The Keemagh Boat Ramp Amenities is located on the Cooks River close to where the river flows into Botany Bay.
There has been a significant push by Councils to improve public facilities, with a particular focus on the amenities in parks and at sporting facilities. The existing facility has been replaced with the new facility which provides two unisex toilets, one ambulant toilet and one accessible toilet with baby change, a staff lunch room, store room and external handwash.
In providing the new amenities, the Council required that the new building should have a strong emphasis on sustainability, be easily maintained and offer accessible and ambulant toilets which can be used by all visitors to the site. The materials used include metal and clear roof sheeting supported on a steel frame, brick walls, timber privacy screens and polished concrete floors, all of which assist the Council in maintaining the building.
Bylett Associates was engaged to provide cost planning from DA submission through to the pre-tender estimate and Bill of Quantities. The post contract phase was managed by Bayside Council.
